It's easy for me to get all tangled up in the gray days of January and February in Indiana. I suppose that's the price we pay for having such beautiful spring and fall seasons. There hasn't been much sun lately. My spirits have felt it... which means that the slightest rattle in my day to day existence can seem HUGE!
I always loved the Northern Exposure episode where Walt needs sunlight to overcome his depression and resorts to wearing light glasses 24/7. Of course, he becomes addicted to his light glasses and Chris and Holling have to perform an intervention. Hilarious (but of so very truthful stuff). If I had light glasses I'd probably become addicted, too. (And I wouldn't care one bit if people thought I looked like a coal miner!)
Anyway, when I get to feeling this way, it's time to roll out the gratitude list. So, in no particular order...
1. My kids (They have no idea how much their phone calls/visits mean to me.)
2. Nitrous oxide (Don't go to a dentist appt. without it!)
3. Heat (I won't be taking it for granted in my car anytime soon!)
4. Hot lavendar bubble baths
5. Dear friends who check in/stop by just to say hello.
6. Arrrested Development (Heard the other day there could be a movie... Fingers crossed for sure!)
7. Daniel Day-Lewis (Brilliant. Enuff said)
8. Marianne Williamson teaching A Course in Miracles
9. English muffins with peanut butter
10. My folks... They are always there for me and I SO take it for granted.
11. Slumber parties with my 8-year-old niece. Fun, fun, fun!
12. Bowling (and actually winning!)
13. A very kind neighbor who helped change a tire... not once, but twice!
14. New music and the people who turn me on to it...
15. Good, honest, (blood-letting) conversations with loved ones.
This is the best I can do in providing light... Ahhhhh yellow!
