Wow... I am pretty sure I heard everyone who read that subject line say, "Only seven???"
My dear friend Helen at Deja Vu All Over Again tagged me the what looks to be a fun meme, although she may wish that she hadn't...
:)
1. I was once the co-publisher of a webzine called "The Incurable Romantic" The above-mentioned Helen would have been my fellow-publisher... us being the incurable romantic types and all... Sadly, it was a short-lived venture that I should have worked at MUCH harder!
2. When I was a kid, I sent a fan letter to Jack Wild, star of H.R. PufnStuf. He sent me a signed photo. I remember taking that photo to school. Some girl told me that Jack didn't really sign his name... that he probably had some secretary sign it for him. I was crushed.
3. Later in life, I sent a fan letter to Anthony Geary. (OK, so I know this sounds kind of weird... but I've sent TWO, and only two, fan letters in my life. I swear!) And oh yeah, I was all about the Luke and Laura years. Not sure where my photo of Tony got to though...
4. I got in trouble in high school for skipping out of school and (of all things...) GOING TO VISIT FRIENDS AT ANOTHER SCHOOL!!! (Apparently administrative officials at my friends' school weren't buying the story that our school was on a special holiday!) If I remember correctly, my mom wasn't buying it much either.
5. My cat Frankie was named after "Francis Psycho" from the movie "Stripes." He was the guy who said "If any of you homos touch me, I'll kill ya!" A great movie! Yeah well, Frankie (the cat) = Psycho.
6. I was named after my great-grandmother Elizabeth Lennon and not Queen Elizabeth... uh, like I told all the kids at school!
7. I waded waist-deep through the muck of a Kosciusko County, Indiana swamp so I could document the experience for a story in Outdoor Indiana magazine. There were about 8 of us participating in a Swamp Stomp. What a mess... and sadly, probably the closest I will ever actually get to a therapeutic mud bath!!!) There's a photo of that around somewhere...
So there you go.
And speaking of photos...
Here is a series of
photos that I've been working on. I shot them this summer at a belly dancing festival. Wonderful music, amazing dancers for sure! A beautiful evening!
